What does EDTA chelation actually do? +
EDTA wraps around the micronutrient ion and holds it in a stable, protected form. Without chelation, nutrients like iron, zinc and copper react with other elements in the soil or spray tank and become locked up in forms the plant cannot absorb. Chelation keeps the nutrient soluble and available for root and leaf uptake.
The chelation value tells you what proportion of the micronutrient is genuinely chelated and therefore protected. Our range carries chelation values above 99.5%, and above 99.97% for Zinc EDTA. A higher value means better stability, less precipitation and more of the nutrient actually reaching the plant.
Yes. All our EDTA chelated micronutrients are highly water soluble and dissolve completely without residue. They do not precipitate or clog drip systems, which makes them well suited to fertigation and modern precision irrigation.
